Terms of service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

This agreement

These terms govern a merchant’s access to and use of the RewardKit website, Shopify app, and campaign tools. “RewardKit,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the service operator. “You” means the person or business that installs or uses RewardKit for its store.

By installing or using the app, you agree to them on behalf of that business. You must be at least 18, have legal capacity to enter this agreement, and be authorized to manage the store and grant the app’s requested permissions. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

Shopify’s agreements separately govern your use of Shopify. RewardKit is a separate service provider. These terms do not make Shopify a party to our agreement or make RewardKit the seller of your products.

Shoppers’ purchases and reward offers are agreements with the merchant. These merchant terms do not replace the offer shown to a shopper, the store’s terms, or a shopper’s mandatory legal rights.

What RewardKit provides

RewardKit lets you publish storefront games and product quizzes, set reward rules, issue supported rewards through Shopify, and review campaign activity and reward-code orders. Available features depend on your Shopify permissions, store settings, theme, and any accepted plan.

You give RewardKit permission to carry out the actions needed for your saved settings and published campaigns, including creating eligible Shopify rewards, finding or creating customer profiles for requested emails, recording separately chosen marketing consent, and reading relevant order data. This permission is limited by your Shopify authorization and the data practices described in our privacy policy.

You remain responsible for access to your Shopify account, the staff you authorize, and changes they make. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to RewardKit.

Your campaigns and reward promises

You choose the game, quiz content, reward, eligibility, qualifying products or purchases, minimum spend, campaign dates, claim or redemption deadline, and available limits. Before publishing, check the offer wording, time zone, product availability, reward value, and complete shopper preview.

You are the sponsor of your campaigns and must honor the rewards your store offers. RewardKit creates supported discounts, store credit, and gift cards in your Shopify store according to the published campaign.

Your offers must be accurate and lawful wherever you make them available. You are responsible for required promotion rules, disclosures, age or location restrictions, permissions, consumer protections, taxes, and gift-card or store-credit obligations. Do not charge people to enter a game of chance or use RewardKit for unlawful gambling. Do not describe a reward as unconditional when spending, eligibility, stock, or another condition applies.

Marketing signup must remain optional and separate from earning or claiming a reward. Product quizzes must not solicit health information, financial account details, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information.

Published offers and redemption

Earned rewards keep the terms attached to the original offer. Pausing, ending, replacing, or uninstalling a campaign does not cancel a reward already earned or authorize you to reduce its value. Handle a suspected fraudulent claim individually and in accordance with the offer and applicable law.

Discount and product rewards are subject to the published redemption deadline and checkout conditions. A product reward may require both a qualifying purchase and the specified gift in the cart. Inventory, currency, shipping conditions, and other discounts can affect checkout eligibility. Showing or copying a code is not confirmation that an order qualifies.

Store-credit and gift-card rewards require the shopper to sign in and claim before the displayed claim deadline. RewardKit issues those balances without an expiry date: the deadline to claim is not a deadline to spend an issued balance. The merchant remains responsible for honoring issued rewards.

Delivery may take time. A pending or uncertain delivery does not prove that no reward was issued. Check the original reward before issuing a replacement so the shopper is not credited twice. Contact support when you cannot resolve a delivery problem.

Previews, recommendations, and reports

The merchant preview simulates the shopper journey. It does not issue real rewards, change a real cart, create customer records, subscribe shoppers, or send emails. Publishing a campaign makes live participation capable of creating real rewards and customer records.

Quiz matches follow the products and rules you choose. You are responsible for the accuracy and suitability of the product descriptions and recommendations. A match is not a promise of availability or a substitute for advice that your products require.

Activity reports count recorded plays, rewards, and supported shopper actions. Sales reports connect reward codes to recorded orders and refunds within the reporting window. They can be delayed or incomplete and do not establish incremental sales, profit, or return on investment. Use Shopify’s order and financial records for accounting and reconciliation.

Pricing and Shopify Billing

Current pricing and available plans are listed on RewardKit’s Shopify App Store page.

App subscriptions and payments are managed through Shopify Billing. Billing adjustments, including any approved refunds, are processed through Shopify Billing. The price, billing cycle, trial, and usage terms shown by Shopify for the plan you approve apply.

Manage your app subscription in Shopify. Pausing a RewardKit campaign does not cancel the app subscription. For questions about an app charge or a refund request, contact Support.

Your content, our software, and personal data

You retain your rights in your store content, branding, campaign material, and other content you provide. You grant RewardKit a nonexclusive license to host, copy, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, support, and secure the service for you. This permission does not allow us to use your store name or logo as a public endorsement without your consent.

RewardKit and its licensors retain their rights in the service, software, designs, and documentation. While you comply with these terms, you may use the service for your own Shopify business. You may not resell the service or copy its software except where a separate license or applicable law permits it. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

You must have the rights and lawful grounds needed to provide your content and instruct us to process shopper information. Give shoppers an accurate privacy notice and obtain required permissions before enabling the relevant processing. Do not upload data that the service does not need.

We process shopper data to provide the service on your instructions, subject to applicable law, and describe the processing in our privacy policy. Each party remains responsible for its own data protection obligations. A privacy notice is not itself consent or an international data-transfer agreement. Where applicable law requires a separate data-processing agreement, that agreement must be in place before the covered processing begins; it controls over conflicting provisions here for that processing.

Prohibited use

You must not use RewardKit to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, distribute malicious code, send unsolicited marketing, or mislead shoppers. You must not access another store’s information, attempt to obtain another shopper’s private reward, impersonate a customer, automate fraudulent participation, bypass reward limits, or interfere with the service.

Do not remove material reward conditions from the shopper experience or present a preview as a real reward. Security testing must not expose other users’ data or disrupt their service. Report suspected vulnerabilities through Support without publishing private information or usable reward codes.

Availability, support, and changes to features

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every theme or third-party app, a particular support response time, successful email inbox delivery, or any level of sales or revenue.

Shopify outages, revoked permissions, store configuration, unavailable products, email providers, maintenance, and other service failures can affect participation or redemption. We will take reasonable steps within our control to address reported defects. You must keep your store configuration and campaign offers accurate.

We may update features for security, compatibility, or product improvements. Where a change materially reduces a feature, we will give advance notice when practicable. Urgent security or legal changes may take effect immediately. Feature changes do not cancel your existing promises to shoppers.

Suspension and ending the service

We may restrict a campaign or suspend access when reasonably necessary to stop unlawful activity, fraud, a security threat, material harm to shoppers or the service, nonpayment of approved fees, or a material breach of these terms. We will limit the restriction to what is reasonably necessary. Where it is safe and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to correct the problem. Immediate action is permitted when delay would increase the harm.

You may stop using RewardKit at any time. Pause or end campaigns, arrange to honor outstanding rewards, save any records you need, and uninstall through Shopify. Uninstalling ends access to the app; do not assume you will be able to retrieve its reports afterward.

We may terminate this agreement for an unresolved material breach after reasonable notice, or discontinue the service with at least 30 days’ notice unless an earlier shutdown is required by law or an urgent security issue.

Termination does not reverse transactions, cancel earned rewards, or erase issued Shopify balances. Data access and deletion follow the privacy policy. Provisions concerning existing rewards, ownership, confidentiality of personal data, liability, and disputes continue where needed to give them effect. App billing is managed through Shopify Billing as described above.

Responsibility and limits of liability

Each party remains responsible for its own obligations under this agreement and applicable law. App billing is managed through Shopify Billing; that does not transfer responsibility for your store’s reward offers to Shopify.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of anticipated profit, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from this agreement.

These exclusions do not apply to fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow a party to exclude or limit. They do not limit a person’s statutory data protection rights or compensation that cannot lawfully be limited.

Except for the commitments expressly stated here and guarantees that cannot legally be excluded, we do not give additional warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer or other statutory protections that apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms and will publish the updated version with its date. For a material change affecting an existing merchant, we will give at least 30 days’ notice through the app or an available merchant contact before it takes effect. Changes required by law or needed to address an urgent security threat may take effect sooner, with an explanation.

You may stop using the service before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms, except where law or Shopify requires a separate acceptance. Changes do not apply retroactively to an existing dispute, an already earned reward, or charges for a period already paid for.

Disputes and contact

Contact us with the store address, the relevant campaign or charge, and a description of the problem. We will try to resolve it directly. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or meeting a legal filing deadline.

These terms do not select an exclusive country’s law or court. Applicable law and court jurisdiction are determined by the rules that legally apply to the dispute. No mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver, or waiver of access to a competent court is imposed by this agreement.

See Support for help. Shoppers should contact the store about purchases, returns, marketing preferences, and honoring rewards.

General terms

These terms, any paid plan you expressly accept, and any separate written agreement between you and RewardKit form the agreement for the service. A signed separate agreement controls if it expressly changes these terms; an accepted plan controls its specific pricing, usage allowance, and billing terms.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive it. Neither party may transfer this agreement in a way that reduces the other party’s rights; RewardKit may transfer it with the business if the successor takes on our obligations and we notify you. These terms do not create a partnership, employment relationship, or general authority for either party to bind the other.
